Colijn Strydom obtained a MA in Visual Arts from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2008. His practice is focused on drawing but extends to painting, photography and performance. His work has been exhibited widely throughout galleries in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Through his art he engages with gender and Afrikaner identity and he often uses humour and other self-reflexive strategies. Strydom’s subject matter is varied and he frequently finds inspiration in poetry, history and folktales.
