This exhibition aims to acknowledge the challenges faced by artists in the creative process, emphasizing the courage, perseverance, and boldness required to be vulnerable and express themselves.

The Pain is an Unavoidable Side Effect group exhibition marks the fourth year since its inception in June 2020. This exhibition reflects on a quote from the HBO series Carnivàle, highlighting the idea that the end justifies the means, a concept also echoed by Niccolò Machiavelli.

The creative process is likened to a new relationship or business venture, characterized by the decision to take risks. While it may be tempting to choose safety over vulnerability, the artists in this exhibition have chosen to share their work, tapping into themes of tenderness, satire, violence and honesty .

The artworks touch on growth, coping mechanisms, the importance of retaining a sense of childlike wonder, and the desire to share lived experiences with others.
