The Helsinki Notebooks (ISSN 2984-5343), an open-access, peer-reviewed online journal hosted by the Locating Global Protest Against the Extreme Right (LGP) project at the University of Helsinki’s Department of Political History. Call for Essays: The Helsinki Notebooks, Volume 2 invites Global South artists, activists, scholars, and writers to submit essays, poetry (up to 800 words), and creative works on local anti-fascist resistance and its ties to anti-colonialism, anti-racism, and women’s rights.
About the Call:
The Helsinki Notebooks invites submissions exploring the local textures of anti-fascist resistance and their connections to global currents of anti-colonialism, anti-imperialism, anti-capitalism, anti-racism, and women’s rights. We welcome essays, reflections, field reports, poetry (up to 800 words, with flexibility where warranted), and creative works (e.g., multimedia, visual art, or hybrid forms). The deadline is 15 December 2025, with publications on helsinkinotebooks.com under a CC-BY-ND license.
