Saad Nazih Featured in 'Carte blanche to Mahi Binebine' Group Exhibition
Abla Ababou gallery
57, avenue Mehdi Ben Barka, Souissi, Rabat, Morocco
11 February - 18 April 2022
From February 18 to April 18 , 2022, Abla Ababou gallery in Rabat entrusts its picture rails to Mahi Binebine who has selected 11 young talents.
Under the watchful eye of Mahi Binebine, 11 young artists reveal their universe to us. The existential quest dominates. Place of Man in our modern societies, discrimination against women, wild urbanization, reminiscences of childhood, return to basics, feelings of incomprehension, so many themes addressed which reveal to us a youth that leaves little room for carelessness.
Between painting, drawing, superposition work, photography, sculpture and installations, the styles differ but contemporaneity is essential.
The new artistic scene does not hesitate to handle genres and techniques like Noureddine Ouarhim who uses soil and seeds as a testimony to his rural childhood. An omnipresent childhood also with Hasnae Elouarga, Sabrine Lahrach, Yasmine Hadni and Oumayma Souali Abouzid who poetically revisit their memories of little girls. As for Meriem Ait Tagadirt and Ines El Mansouri, the strength of their work, some on abused women and others on the slums of Rabat, in no way leaves room for dreams. A form of "optimistic pessimism" claimed by Mounia Dadi, Hamouda Mouzouna and Ilias Elhaddaoui in works where duality and a tormented humanity in search of light burst. Same quest At Saad Nazih who tries through his many travels to provide answers to the meaning of life.
More than an exhibition, this carte blanche to Mahi Binebine is a true initiatory journey where art shakes up our realities.
