Building a Masterpiece Collective

We are excited to invite you to our flagship event of the year, OPEN STUDIOS 2025, right here in the heart of Melkbosstrand!

We'll be celebrating the creativity of over 24 incredible local artists, alongside one amazing gallery, two special collaborations, and so much more. We’ve also got something extra special lined up—an exclusive film pre-screening, wine tasting, poetry readings, and dance performances that’ll spark your imagination. You’ll have the chance to connect with the artists themselves, find unique artworks to purchase, and soak up the creative energy that makes our community so special.

How it works:

Purchase a ticket online or at the door. Collect your event MAP at the main Art Hub—Atlantic Beach Hotel in Melkbosstrand—and begin your tour through the artists' studios; discover their stunning creations and immerse yourself in the inspiring Building a Masterpiece Collective art route.

Building Art Collections of Value

Aspire Art is a new kind of art company. Focussing primarily on 20th-century, modern and contemporary art from Africa, we are passionate about connecting collectors with exceptional artworks by providing a range of buying and selling platforms and opportunities.

Our annual programme of live auctions in Cape Town and Johannesburg is complemented by an exciting series of online auctions. We also facilitate private sales and host curated selling exhibitions.

Founded in 2016, we quickly became leaders in the sale of contemporary African art alongside canonical Black Modernist works at auction and currently hold many records and industry firsts.

In addition to our sales and exhibition programs, an important core of our business is our valuation and extensive art advisory services to private clients and estates as well as public and corporate institutions.

The Aspire team is led by a dynamic group of specialists with extensive knowledge, industry experience and great enthusiasm for African art. We pool our expertise to provide clients with thorough art market insight, fair advice and trend forecasting, to ensure a richly comprehensive and rewarding art-collecting experience.

At the Melkbos Ateljee OPEN STUDIOS 2025 event, an exciting opportunity awaits: weekend pass holders receive a complimentary art valuation by Aspire Art. Simply bring work from your collection (or pictures of it) to the main ART HUB—Atlantic Beach HOTEL, where ASPIRE Art specialists will be ready to provide valuations, tailored guidance, and advice on your most treasured artwork/s.

Don't miss this chance to meet the Aspire Art team in person and discover the potential of your collection!
